Mitchelton Winery will resonate with the sounds of home-grown Australian music on the ANZAC Day public holiday, Thursday April 25^th.

Evergreen local Shepparton trio, Spank the Monkey will perform live on the stunning new outdoor stage with the majestic Goulburn River and quintessential Australian bushland as the perfect backdrop for ANZAC Day. The Mitchelton Restaurant will be serving traditional Aussie fare including lamb on the spit along with estate-grown Mitchelton wines in a great family picnic setting on the grounds of the iconic Nagambie winery.

Mitchelton Head Chef, Brett Dobson who is leading the charge in creating the revitalised food and offering and artisan experience at the restaurant explained, “This will be the first performance on our new outdoor riverbank stage and I can’t think of a better way to ‘Christen’ it by having a local band of the calibre of Spank the Monkey. They will be covering a classic catalogue of three decades Australian music and perhaps throw in some New Zealand tunes in keeping with the ANZAC flavour of the day. We’ve created a mini amphitheatre concert atmosphere in the forecourt of the restaurant perfect for relaxing on the lawns whilst enjoying a picnic with friends and family.”

A tantalizing mix of folk and country rock led by Dandy Warhols multi-instrumentalist Brent De Boer. Immigrant Union have recently released their first album to wide-spread acclaim.

“Take one part Dandy Warhol, one part Lazy Son and one part Galvatron and you’ve got Immigrant Union, a new Melbourne-based act that more readily adheres to the Dylan/Young model of country-folk songwriting than any of those aforementioned acts. After meeting at Melbourne’s Cherry Bar and discovering their mutual appreciation for strumming classic country on acoustic guitars, the Dandy Warhols’ drummer Brent DeBoer and The Lazy Sons’ singer Bob Harrow recruited keyboardist Peter ‘Gamma’ Lubulwa of The Galvatrons to record together.”  - Andrew McMillen
